What does Avidan do, in one sentence?
Avidan Design is a Central Florida engineering firm focused on three services: HVAC load and energy calculations, electrical load and panel schedules, and structural layout engineering.
Which Florida jurisdictions do you work in?
Strongest depth in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia, and Lake counties (Central Florida). We work across Florida and prepare calculations for the Florida edition your permit is filed under.
Do you do residential, commercial, or both?
Both. Residential includes single-family, additions, and small multifamily. Commercial includes light commercial, retail, office, and tenant improvement work.
What methods and codes do you use?
HVAC loads use ACCA Manual J (residential), Manual N / ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 183 (commercial), and Manual S for selection, with EnergyGauge for Florida Energy Code compliance. Electrical loads use NEC 2020 Article 220. Structural work follows the Florida Building Code.
What do I need to send to get started?
Plans or drawings (architectural, structural, or mechanical), the project type and use, the location, and square footage if you have it. We'll confirm scope and what review will require before we start.
Are you a Florida-licensed firm?
Avidan operates with the appropriate Florida professional licensure for the services it provides. Credentials applicable to a given engagement are confirmed in writing as part of the engagement letter.
What do I receive as a deliverable?
A clean, complete package prepared for permit review: the load calculation and compliance report, the panel schedule, or the structural layout drawings — depending on the service.
How do you price engagements?
Most work is fixed-fee with a defined scope and deliverable schedule. We confirm scope and fee in a written engagement letter before we begin.
What if my project is outside your three services?
We'll say so directly and point you to the right specialist. Honest routing beats a slow, wrong-fit engagement.
